The Arizona Community Preschool, founded by           
                                    Andrea Acker, is a non-profit preschool program          
                                     that was created in concert with the community of       
                                     Arizona to provide high quality education for local
three and four year olds. The program teaches basic letter, number, and
shape recognition, cooperative learning skills, beginning reading and
math, music, and organic gardening.  We use
Montessori methods and materials.

Mission Statement

It is our mission to provide a safe and nurturing
atmosphere in which students can be prepared
for entrance into Infant 1.

Our Goals

-To inspire in each student a love of learning that will last their lifetime.
-To aid each child in developing social skills.
-To expose each child to gardening during a formative period in their
development.
-To encourage creative thinking skills.

Objectives

-To familiarize children with being taught in English
-To assist children in achieving at least 75% letter recognition
-To teach each child how to write their own name.
-To assist children in achieving 100% recognition of basic shapes.
-To assist children in achieving 100% recognition of basic colors.
-To assist children in achieving recognition of the numbers 1-20
-To teach children the concepts of addition and subtraction.

Meet our Staff
Andrea Acker -Curriculum Coordinator/Teacher
Andrea has had many years of experience working
with children of all ages and enjoys teaching and
interacting with them. She is the curriculum
coordinator and teacher and helps plan exciting
activities and stimulating programs. She has donated all of the preschool materials
and manipulatives. She also coordinated the badly needed  repairs for the
preschool building, soliciting the lumber for new walls and desks from Midwest
Lumber Mill, Buena Vista Lumberyard, and The Wood Depot.
We are currently accepting applications for a preschool teacher for the September
session. Spanish and English skills and a love for children are required, and a
Diploma or certificate in early childhood education is preferred.
